The perfect topping for Pumpkin Muffins

Ingredients

  • 1 cup (2 sticks) salted butter
  • 8 oz. cream cheese
  • 2 - 2 1/2 cups powdered sugar (more will make it stiffer and sweeter)
  • 1 tsp. vanilla

Other optional flavors: 1 tsp. espresso powder, 1 tsp. molasses, or 1 Tbsp bourbon.

Instructions

Make sure the butter and cream cheese are room temperature. Beat them together with a mixer until smooth. Add the vanilla and other flavors. Mix in the powdered sugar in increments (so it doesn't fly everywhere) until it is how you like it.

The icing may seem a bit soft but it will stiffen up in the refrigerator.
