Cream Cheese Frosting

Ingredients


  • 2 sticks (8 oz) salted butter
  • 1 brick (8 oz) cream cheese
  • 2 tsp. vanilla
  • 4 cups powdered sugar (or more)

Instructions


Let butter and cream cheese come up to room temperature. Cream together with a hand or stand mixer. Add vanilla. SLOWLY add powdered sugar in small quantities, letting it combine, until the desired consistency and sweetness. It will develop flavor over the next day.

Variations

Esprsesso

Add 2 tsp. espresso powder when adding the powdered sugar

Lemon

Add 4 Tbs fresh lemon juice and 2 Tbs grated lemon zest (from about 2 lemons) to the creamed butter and cheese.
